Dan in Real Life Movie Review (2007) | Roger Ebert
“If the film has a flaw, and I’m afraid it does, it’s the Sondre Lerche songs on the soundtrack. They are too foregrounded and literal, either commenting on the action or expounding on associated topics. In such a laid-back movie, they’re in our face. The songs are on the movie’s Web site, if you doubt me. But I got over the music and had a good enough time…”
In case anyone was curious, this is the article I was talking about in katieb1223‘s livestream. (I tracked it down because I’m sad like that.)
Dan in Real Life was the movie that introduced me to Sondre, and I was very saddened to read (back when I still cared about movie critics’ opinions) that Ebert didn’t like the music, because I loved it (along with the rest of the movie – it’s one of my favorites).
The bit about Sondre is at the very end of the review.
I’ve been watching Sondre Lerche video. Something unconnected with YLVIS. I’ve wanted to take a rest form YLVIS. And WHO I’ve just seen at 1:55?? God, they’re everywhere! 😛
